Recycle Bin won't allow me to delete several Adobe
Illustrator files...keeps giving an error that a Dd9, or
Dd23, or Dd28 etc. file is in use. I've closed all
programs and shut down another computer(that shares files
with this workstation) that's on the network, and I'm
still getting the error.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Connie

Your Recycle Bin is corrupt. To fix, you can use a a REG file created by
MVP Doug Knox that will merge the correct registry settings for the Recycle
Bin into your registry. Directions and link to download REG file can be
found here:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/rec_bin.htm

Open Recycle Bin first
Now, open Task Manager and End the "explorer.exe" Process
Empty items from recycle bin.
Switch back to Task Manager and create new process (file new > Explorer.exe)

If this won't work, you may want to deal with the DOS box ("recycled"
folder)
