I have just installed Outlook 2003 and when I go to import a pst file
that is 43 Mb it comes up as empty in Outlook.
Anyone ever hear of that? and is there a solution to see the mails?

All the time. Importing is never the correct way to access or transfer
Outlook data.
Just open the file in Outlook to access it.

I am sorry I actually did open it, with the empty results.
Thanks for the reply.

Then you must post accurately if you want help from a newsgroup. The burden
is still yours. How did you create this PST file and how did you manage to
keep it from being populated with information? We cannot determine that.

Use ScanPST.exe to repair the pst first and try to open it again

Thanks for the reply.
I have reformatted a drive and installed Outlook 2003. I open a .pst
file on another hard drive to see what is in it and it opens as empty.
It is 43 Mb in size so there is data in it. Anyone ever hear of that?
and do you think there is there a solution to see the mails?

If you open a PST, visit each folder, and see that each is empty then
clearly the PST contains no data no matter what size it occupies on disk.

One would think that but when I run Scanpst.exe on it it says it fixes
some errors. If there was no data why would it fix anything?

Any idea on how this file was created? What do you see reported for this
file when you go to Properties > Folder Size... ?

Thank you so much for all your responses. After hearing from all of
you and speaking to other Outlook Gurus I have determined that it is
an empty file.
Thanks again,
dloj
