OK, there's this empty folder on my desktop that just won't go away!
Everytime I delete it, it pops back up after a few minutes or so.

I used the folder to rip a CD on. Now, I have no use of it and want to get
rid of it from my desktop. The contents doesn't come back, only the bloody
empty folder. I've tried changing it's name, but then a folder with the same
name pops up after a while!

How the hell to I get rid of it?

Have a look at the setting for your CD ripping software.

It looks like it must be keeping a default folder for your work

Make sure when you exit your ripping software that you have actually
UNLOADED it. If it is still running despite no longer presenting a
window, it might be recreating the destination or working folder.

Identifying WHAT ripping software you are using might get more focused
responses from others that use the same software. Otherwise, all we
know is you used some nebulous software with unknown behavior.

I used WMP.
