Is there a way to empty the clipboard in XP? Is it built
into my Windows or do I need something else? Thanks

Perform the following:

1. Right-click on your Desktop and select: NEW > SHORTCUT
2. In the Create Shortcut window, type in: CLIPBRD.EXE , and click "Next"
3. In the next window, type in: ClipBoard Viewer , and click "Finish"
4. A ClipBoard Viewer shortcut icon will appear on your Desktop.

Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel -> Click on Add/Remove
Windows Components on the left bar -> on the screen that pops up, select
Accessories and Utilities -> Details Button -> Select Accessories -> Details
Button -> Check mark the box named "Clipboard Viewer" and say OK twice and
then next and let the install finish. Then somewhere in you accessories (in
start menu) you will see a Clipboard Viewer. Open that application and you
will be able to clear the clipboard from there.

OR, if you just want to remove what you have in the clipboard right now,
just open any application like notepad, word, etc. and select one blank
space and press Ctrl+C and it will clear the clipboard for you.

I'm delighted that two of you have responded to my
question, but both say the message is unavailable. What
do I do now?

See www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_clearclip.zip Download the ZIP file and extract the contents to your hard disk. Create a shortcut on the Start Menu or Desktop to the xp_clearclip.exe file, and assign a hotkey combination to it. Or you can create a shortcut to it on your Quick Launch Toolbar.
