Hi everyone
My only DC in the test enviroment Active Directory crashed and I need to
reinstall (I guess) the system state. Problem is the company who takes care
of backups for us do so on a UNIX machine and only of the file system.
Is there any way that i can restore the system state from there?
Thanks in advance for your prompt answers and suggestions.

Hello,

If the backup doesn't contain the registry and the Active Directory
database and log files then it is not a system state backup. In order to
restore Active Directory you are going to need the NTDS directory. If this
has not been backed up then you will not be able to restore the active
directory.
