Emergency floppy for Win 2K

Hi,

Home computer, W2K, SP4, Rollup1.
For several years, I've been using Backup to make an "Emergency Repair Disk"
to my 1.4" A: drive. MS recommends making a new floppy backup when a change
is made in the system, plus backing up the registry to the repair directory.
I format the floopy each time before creating the disk.

The three files on the floopy have always been identical in content, shown
when I use a file compare program, or just open them.
(setup.log, config.nt, and autoexec.nt)

Question: what is the use of this disk, since it reflects no changes, just
contains the original setup files from the original install?

Is there something I'm missing?

The rest is on the HDD. There's to much to fit on the diskette.

Thanks, but my question isn't really answered.
What is the use of this disk, why update it when making system changes, if
the files created on the floppy are identical each time?
