Embedding Webforms

Is there any way to embed a webform or something similar into another
webform so that it renders correctly?

I've been using pagelets but find them annoying as they can't be absolutly
positioned and don't render when u embed them

No, forms cannot be within forms. This violates the rules of HTML.
But you can have controls within controls.
And you could have a page within a page if you use an IFrame.
Alternately, you could have a form AFTER another form on the same page.
(But only one of them can be a runat=server form.)
