I do a lot of work using powerpoint and often use sound
files. I want to give a copies to business associates but
when I try to burn it on a CD, the sound does not play on
their copy (it seems to want to look for the file on my
computer even though I have placed the sound file on the
CD). Do you know how to do this?

The only sounds that are embedded are WAV files, and those only if they are
smaller than the size you define in your options. Otherwise, you need to
link to a copy of the sound file that resides in the same directory as your
presentation. (IN other words, copy the sound to the directory, then link to
it.) For more information, see:

Only WAV files are embedded, and only if they don't exceed the size limit
that you set in Tools > Options > General. If you're using WAV files, set
the limit to 50000KB (50MB) and they'll be embedded if they aren't larger
than 50 MB.

If you're using another audio format such as MP3, they'll be linked. To
create pathless links that will travel with the presentation and work from
CD or from another folder or system, gather all of them together with the
presentation in a single folder. Then insert them. If they've already been
inserted, delete them and re-insert them to correct the links.

Then you can burn all of the files to a CD and when the presentation is
played from the CD the links to the sound files will not break because
PowerPoint will know to look in the same location as the presentation, i.e.
the CD.
