Here's what I want to do - and I have been to every Help topic and website
for help. I hope I can get some clear, non-confusing, simple answers this
time!

1. Embed a song (music file) into my Power Point
2. Compress to a manageble size for e-mailing
3. E-mail Power Point so music will be heard when recepient opens Power
Point.

Help!

I'm sure there are numerous programs I could buy to assist me with this. Are
there solutions that don't cost money?

Sure,

First, convert the file to a format other Windows users would be able to
run. (I suggest WMA) Next, place the media file into the presentation
folder BEFORE inserting it into the presentation. After inserting it, save
the presentation and then email the entire contents of the folder.

One issue you may run into is most people save the presentation to their
desktop which may have too long a path for it to play properly. To solve
this give your recipient instructions on saving it to a folder with a short
path. Example: "C:\test".

The other issue you may run into is the email may be to large, that really
depends upon your and their ISPs size limits. If this is the case use an
FTP site or one of the free delivery sites on the internet.

I also suggest zipping everything as this will generate an error should the
file be damaged when emailing it. (Zip uses CRC to make certain this
doesn't happen.)

By the way, PFCExpress is free for two weeks so if this is a one off
situation it won't cost you a thing. :-)

Only wav can be embedded. If you are using other format, you will need to
convert the music into wav format using sound convertor.

Check out for the quick fix here:

email a presentation"

Yes, I have done this. Now my problem is that the Power Point is too big. I
have tried compressing all of the objects and pictures (perhaps I did not do
it correctly). Do I need to buy a program that will do this (Stuffit, etc.)?

Help me understand what you mean by "place the media file into the
presentation folder BEFORE inserting it into the presentation". I do have a
folder for this presentation, and it has both the Power Point and the song
(in a .wav format). I have tried e-mailing the entire folder, but once
again, it seems too big for e-mail. What is an FTP or a free internet
delivery site? Is there an address I can go too?

And yes, I think I will try that free trial for two weeks! Thanks!
