Embedding Movie Maker 2 wmv in websites

I have had problems embedding wmv files into a web page.
They look fine when played back with media player but as
soon as I embed that the picture disappears.
I tracked the problem down to not having media player 9
as when I used media encoder to convert to using the
version7 video codec things worked fine.
I am worried that even when I have upgraded media player
that will still mean that anybody else viewing the file
will need to use media player 9.
Any body know if this will be needed.

Hi there,

You can have a look at the code I use on my site to display WMV
files...just right click under one of the video screens and select "View
Source"

Anyone watching my video's must have the files for version 9 installed.
I do not know of any one who allows Microsoft to do an auto update of the
necessary files so I cannot say how good/bad it is. In any case someone
watching from a non windows machine would have to update their software so
that they could view version 9 created video.
