I had asked on an earlier date how to embed fonts and was
advised to see
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00076.htm for help.
I didn't mention that I had already used the "save as,"
and that I am using off XP PRO.

I attempted to find the ini file but was unable to. All
the fonts in my presentation are TT fonts, except 2 which
I wouldn't mind changing....

Is there anything further that I can do without altering
my entire presentation?

Thanks

Please tell us what is happening. Are the fonts not being embedded? Do you
receive a message that they can't be embedded? What isn't working?

I go to the option to embedd fonts and then saved my
presentation on a cd and tried it on another computer
running Off XP PRO and WIN XP. The fonts do not save as
part of the presentation....the first one I used was
FORTE..and it doesn't show as forte.
I made sure to check that the fonts were embedded and
they are.
If I can tell you anything else let me know

I guess it might be a permissions issue. Can you log on to that system as
administrator and try the CD again?

When you saved the file did you go to File > Save as and verify that Embed
fonts was checked? Also, how do you know that they aren't embedded? You
can temporarily uninstall the Forte font on your system and then test the
CD. To do that, open Windows Explorer, go to C:\WINDOWS\ and create a
folder called \Fonts Saved. Then locate C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\Forte and drag it
to C:\WINDOWS\Fonts Saved. Put the CD in the drive and run the
presentation. Does the Forte font display correctly? If so it's because it
is embedded.

After the test you can drag the font back into C:\WINDOWS\Fonts from
C:\WINDOWS\Fonts Saved.

Okay, I feel like an idiot....
What I needed to do when I was saving was to select ALL
my slides and then do the saving of the embedded fonts....
I did and that worked...as I said the two fonts that
weren't TT didn't save but no big deal!!!
What a relief...
It's always great to solve a major problem and these
programs are so intricate that without help from people
like you I'd have been committed long ago.
Thank you so much!!!!
