Embedding AVI files

Hi there, I have created a website with Frontpage 2002. I am trying to
insert a media player or something similar to show a 1 minute AVI file on it.
I use the option add video, but it won't show when I save and upload the
page, also the options are limited. I have seen many a page with a small
windows media player containing movies, can anyone advise me on how to do
this?!?
what are your thoughts on it, is any one player better than another, should
I change format, what is the easiest way to incorporate this content?

you have to upload the video file as well - it is not technically embedded
in the page.
