Does anybody have any success stories regarding embedding a PDF viewer
control into a .NET Windows Forms application?

I have tried talking to Adobe, and they seem to want everybody to pay up and
join the ASN befor thy will tell you if they can help. I was even shown a
(locked down) link to a document on their partners web site that appeared to
reference PDF programming under .NET - the best bit was that I had to join
to view the document and it was very clearly marked as being unsupported,
even the guy from Adobe laughed!

Cheers.

Have you tried Adobe Acrobat Control for ActiveX (pdf.ocx), which comes with
the installation of Adobe Acrobat Reader?

Martin,

I use a PDF viewer in several of my apps; simply add a PDF viewer to your
toolbar, and you can put them in your forms. To do that,

1. Select the toolbar tab on which you want to add the PDF Viewer icon
2. Right click on the toolbar tab; you will get a popup menu.
3. Select "Add/Remove Items..."
4. From the "COM Components" tab, select "Adobe Acrobat Control for
ActiveX" and press Enter. If it's not in the list, click the "Browse..."
button and navigate to your Acrobat directory (typically C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Acrobat), then go to the "Reader\ActiveX" directory. Select the
PDF.OCX component.

Please note that you should NOT add a reference to this file (Under
"References"), as the control in the toolbar automatically adds a "controls"
reference and the IDE will complain.

HTH,
Derrick
