Embed Flash

Is there a way to embed Flash in a PowerPoint slide the same way as in a Web page? I used "Insert Object" to add a .swf file to a PowerPoint slide, but there are two problems:

1) When the .swf file is activated, there is a security warning which I can't find a way to suppress.
2) The Flash file plays in a separate window which must mean that it is using the Windows Flash Player instead of the browser plug-in.

Or, putting this another way, I need to make the embedded Flash file act just like an animated gif.
