Someone mentioned that if you delete emails the space used by that email still exists in your folder, and that there is a tool to compact email folders thus reducing disk storage space. Can anyone help me?

Assuming you're using a .PST file: Right-click the root folder of the file
(usually "Personal Folders" or "Outlook Today"), select Properties, click
Advanced, then Compact Now. Note that compacting should occur automatically
in the background if Outlook is left open for a while, and if there is
enough white space in the file to warrant a compact operation.
