Emails still being sent after address deleted

I am at my wit's end. I have several distribution lists, and they all seem to
have the same, strange problem. When I delete an email address from the list,
the email goes away, but the person still gets the messages. I've updated the
lists, removed the email addresses from my general contacts list and updated,
and more, but still, I have hidden recipients on my list who are getting a
bit tetchy about repeatedly asking to be deleted.

To sum up, I'll send an email, and I'll get a message from someone saying
that they got the email, and when I check my email list, their address
appears nowhere. When I check the "to" line of the email, their address does
not appear, either.

I know it sounds like this is probably user error, and maybe it is, but what
is my error?

Most likely you neglected to remove the DL from your autocompletion cache.

Thanks for that suggestion, but I'm not sure that's the answer. Their
addresses don't pop up when I begin to type in the names into the "to" line.
I've tried to find a master list for autocompletion, but I've had no success.
Outlook Help didn't help. (Try to find *.NK2 in any file or folder, which was
not found in any of my files and folders.)

Perhaps the autocomplete is the answer, and I'm not skilled enough to find
the names. Do you have any more advice? Thank you so much!

You haven't enabled viewing hidden files and folders so you can't browse to
the folder containing it. Open Windows Explorer and enter this exact path
in the Address field:

%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook

Click Go. The NK2 file will be there.
