Emails in inbox vanish - please help

Windows Vista Mail 32bit

I have had the computer for 4 months.

Today, I have found that the emails received earlier today keep vanishing
and not returning. They are not re-appearing in the deleted or junk items
folder.

Argh, just lost 2 more! it seems to be happening when they are marked as
read.

Your replies are greatly appreciated as emails are not printed and I have
lost 3 (now 5) really important emails already today

Do you have the View set to "Hide Read and Ignored messages? Go to View and
see that the choice is "Show all messages".

Appreciate your help.

I have only been using the communities for a week or two and it has provided
valuable assistance.
 
The same thing just started to happen to me. It worked fine up to today. Only
thing I can add is that it appears to erase messages marked as read, plus the
first message in the inbox, each time I open it.

There was an update to Vista yesterday or so, and this may have been a
problem in the update. But who knows.
 
Make sure the Current View for that folder is "Show All Messages"
instead of "Hide Read Messages."
