I am having trouble with fonts changing when I email a presentation file to someone. Many time I create all my slides using Courier New. When I email it to a co-worker, they review the slides, sometimes add slides, and just email it back. When I open the file I recieved back, my Courier New font has changed to either Arial or Times New Roman on all the slides. I have to go to each slide and change it back before showing the presentation

Also, I don't see where you have the option of specifiying a default font like you can in Word or Excel

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Russ

Go into Slide Master and set your default fonts for that presentation. For
help on Slide master, while in Power Point, click Help and search for
Master. To see the slide master, go to View/Master/Slide Master. Title
Master will set the default fonts and colors for the Title slide.

1. To change all the text to your preference, you can go to Slide Sorter
view, select all of your slides, and then go to Format > Replace Fonts,
select Arial, for example, and replace it with Courier New. Warning: This
changes ALL text to a single font.

2. To set the Default Font, go to View > Master > Slide Master. Select the
Text tool, type a couple of letters in the and then go to Format > Font and
set the font to your choice. Also set the size, style and any effects you
want. Check the box next to "Default for new objects" and click OK. Now
delete the letters that you typed. Return to Normal view and all *new* text
that you type will default to your choice.

3. Now, if you want to make a permanent change to the Design Template, go
to File > New, select the template, go to View > Master > Slide Master,
repeat the steps in #2 above, go to File > Save As, select Design
Template(*.POT) as the file type, and click OK. Every time you use that
template in the future the default font will be set to your choice.

4. People can still override the default font or it can get changed by
PowerPoint because they don't have Courier New on their system, and you might
get the presentation returned to you with new fonts. Consider asking your
co-worker to just tell you what changes they want. They can use the Insert
Comments function and type in a description of the changes they want.
Then you can make the changes yourself to your original copy, not one that
they have modified. You stay in control and don't have to undo any changes.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Russ,

Have you tried using the "File -> Send to -> Mail Recipient (for
Review)..." option in PowerPoint 2002 or PowerPoint 2003?

This feature allows you to view the changes suggested by others and
selectively apply or unapply the the different types of changes they made
to the presentation so, for example, you could accept all content changes
while denying any typeface/font changes.

Sonia,

I followed the instructions that you gave me, but I cannot figure out how
to change the default design templete. Each time I open PowerPoint it uses
the same original fonts which happens to be Arial. I would like for it to
come up with the fonts I choose when I open the program like Word or Excel
does. Can you provide any further help?
