Hello

I emailed a powerpoint presentation to an online class
that i am currently taking. For some reason, all the
people who received this powerpoint file are having
trouble playing the movies that i inserted. Do i have to
send these movie files seperately to them along with the
powerpoint presentation to have them play or doesn't
powerpoint already insert a copy into the main
presentation already. I am not too sure to how this works.
Any help would be greatly

Yes, Powerpoint just links to the file and person viewing
ppt file still needs the movie file separately! "Insert"
is not a very good description!!

As Karen says, you do have to send the video files too. However, before you
do that you may need to re-link them so that they will still work at the
other end. The links must be "pathless" and you must tell the end user to
store the files in a folder on their hard disk and play the presentation
from there.

So, open your presentation and delete the videos. Then follow these steps:

1. Assemble all of the sounds, animations, narrations, movies, and any
other files you think you might use, into a single working folder on your
hard disk.

2. Open a new presentation and save it to the working folder. Then begin
adding files, links, etc. to the presentation.

3. Save often to protect your work.

4. Don't link to any file that does not already reside in your working
folder.

5. When your presentation is complete, save it to the working folder. Move
all files together when distributing to another system from the working
folder and keep them in a single folder on the new system or on a CD.
