Using XP and OE, when I attach photos to an email, the pictures always appear
in the body of the recipient's message, in addition to being attachments.
What am I doing wrong?

Those settings are on your recipient's
computer....you have no control over that.

Thank you for your response. However, the way I became aware of this issue
is by sending myself a cc after a recipient mentioned it. What computer
specific settings cause the photos to appear in the body of the message?
Thanks in advance.

Since you are in a WinXP group and have
not stated your OS or which e-mail program
you use...I'll assume...WinXP with Outlook
Express.

The setting to change if you do not wish
attached images to appear in the body of
an e-mail message is:

Open an OE screen...and go to...
Tools / Options / Read tab...

Check the box..."Read all messages in
plain text" / Apply / OK.

Oooops!

In re-reading your original message...
I see that XP and OE were mentioned...
sorry for the oversight.

I use Outlook so can't speak for OE but in Outlook, the commands are
Insert>File.

Browse to the photos and select them then in the "InsertFile" dialog select at
bottom corner "Insert" and choose "attachment".
