emailing photos from xp opens netscape mail program

I can't find where to change it to mail from outlook
express. I have gone to control panel, internet options,
programs tab and it shows outlook express for email.
Can someone direct me to where I can change this?

Click on Start, click on All Programs. Outlook Express should be listed
there, probably toward the top of the lists of programs installed on your
computer. Click on it to start it. When it opens, you will see a message
that Outlook Express is not your default e-mail software and the option to
make it your default will be there.
 
Thanks,I tried that but it doesn't come up. I have been
using outlook express for months for mail, I think that
came up when I started but not since. XP "my pictures"
is the only time netscape mail opens automatically.
Any other ideas?

If you no longer get this message when opening it, try another way.
Open Outlook Express, click on Tools on the top bar and click on Options on
the opening menu.
A window will open. Click on the General tab if needed (usually this window
should open with the General tab view). Bottom of the window you should see
"This application is NOT the default..." and a button next to it to make it
the default.
See if you can do it this way.

I tried that, restarted computer, went to my pictures,
email a photo, and netscape communicator still opens.
Oh well, at least it's a problem I can live with, just
an irritation. If anyone else has an idea, I'll be
checking this forum later. Thank you again, Laurie
 
I cannot guarantee it, but the following method may work:

How do I make OE my default mail client?

Go to...Start / Run...and type the following:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg<
Click to expand...
(copy paste everything between the > < but not including the > <)
(But first...Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure it is correct)

Click...OK...

Then open Internet Explorer and go to...Tools / Internet Options /
Programs tab...and set OE as the default mail (and news) program.

Well, I am out of ideas! Have not worked with Netscape for probably three
years.
