Emailing linked presentations

Can anyone help?

User#2 unable to open excel spreadsheet to edit from
Powerpoint - when the spreadsheet is created by someone
else and linked to the presentation, also created by that
person and then emailed the presentation to user #2.

what are we missing?

I'm not sure I understand completely. But, it sounds like the path to the
linked spreadsheet is not valid for User #2. Maybe, if the person who
creates the link uses a UNC, such as //server/user/excel/sheet.xls, User #2
might have a chance.

If the person who created the file made the link such as: D:/My
Documents/whatever then there's no way this works, unless User #2 has a copy
of the file in the same absolute path.

In any case, Ppt is notorious for having link troubles. Why are you using
this approach to share Excel files?

The easiest way to ensure links work is to put the linked file in the same
folder as the PowerPoint presentation before linking it. That way when both
files are e-mailed and saved to a common folder on User #2's computer the
linked file will still work.
