Each time I send an email using Outlook XP to some one using Outlook Express with an image within the email (not as an attachment) that person never sees the image. Why is that? If I send the same email to someone using Outlook there is no problem. You would think that since both programs are MS they with work with one another. Is there any solution to this problem? Please note I am not using Word as the mail program

If I where to purchase Outlook 2003 would it resolve the the problem

Thanks

What mail format are you using? Only Outlook can read Rich Text. Change to
Plain Text or HTML and see if that resolves the problem

I have sent it in both RTF and HTML with an image within the email to someone using Outlook Express, however the person using Outlook Express never sees the the image. However if I send in plain text with the image as an attachment then that works. You would think that Outlook XP and Outlook Express would be compatible with each other. On the other hand if I if I send to someone using Netscape Mail they have no problem.

They'll never see it enbedded. Outlook just doesnt' do that.

They should see the image as an attachment in any case.

Why? They're developed by two independent groups within Microsoft and serve
different functions. Would you expect to be able to mix Act II popcorn
with, say, Chef Boy-Ar-Dee pasta with meatballs? They're both from the same
company (Conagra Foods).
On the other hand if I if I send to someone using Netscape Mail they
have no problem.

Netscape believes in industry standards.
