Emailing appointments message is scrambled

When I email an appointment to someone on my outlook 2002
calender, the reciever gets only a garbled message. I did
a fix and repair on my outlook and it did not help.
 
Other person is using Outlook 2000? Leave out the reminder. Otherwise, give
an example of what you mean by garble.
