What happens when you try? Do you get an error message? If so,
right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

I have suddenly not been able to send any messages from my outlook account.
Possibly due to a recent windows update?
nothing else has changed. here is my error message;

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: Floors', Account:
'POP3.firstmedical.ca', Server: 'mail.firstmedical.ca', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
Making my work day very stressful!

Firstmedical.ca is not an ISP. As such, your home ISP will block
your use of any port 25 SMTP server other than their own.
For an explanation of this policy, see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

To send from home, you will have to substitute your home ISP's
SMTP server. If you need help with that, let us know who your
home ISP is.

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Uncheck the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."

Can you help me. I don't know how to post just reply to you. This is the
message I kepp getting when I try to send or receive email in Windows Mail
and I run Vista.
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 't2', Account:
'email.psu.edu', Server: 'smtp.psu.edu', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response:
