Your ISP that provides you Internet connection can help you set up Outlook
Express with the correct entries. Only your ISP can tell you this
information.

By the way, please don't use all caps when you post ... it is harder to read
and is considered 'SHOUTING'.

There is a vast number of Usenet, tens of thousands, though your ISP is
unlikely to carry all. This microsoft.public.windowsxp.basic newsgroup is a
de facto Usenet newsgroup, and can be reached using Outlook Express. You
will require information from your ISP to set this up.

For questions about using Outlook Express, the best newsgroup is
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress .

Welcome to the MS newsgroups. In your next post, use mixed case. Typing in
all capital letters is considered shouting and rude. I know you didn't
know, but I'm telling you for the future so you won't get flamed.

The pop3 and smtp servers are your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) mail
servers. Go to your ISP's homepage and look for Help/Email Setup or the
like. They will have the names of the servers there and perhaps even a
"walkthrough" to set up OE.

hi phil , thanks for advice mate , sorry about the CAPS , i have not been
told that before , so i will stop the SHOUTING ha,ha c u

Malke is female, by the way, although she might not complain at being
referred to as 'mate'.. you might want to confirm with her.. :-)

"Mate" is just fine. Considering some of the abuse that's handed out here,
I'm thrilled with "mate". I even got a "thank you" which is always much
appreciated.

Glad to help, RAY0711. Post back if you need any more help.

Agreed on 'mate' being a softer term of endearment than some give out.. I
made the same mistake aways back as I remember.. stay safe..

Malke i am daft and stressessed i cant do what i want to achieve, even with
pop3 ,and smtp , i thought that all i had to do was to type pop3 in the top
box and away we go , oh no,stress sorry to trouble u mate

hi mike , can u tell me what to type in the 2 boxes when setting up email ,
malke said they were pop3 and smtp , so typed that info into both boxes pop3
in one and smtp in the other , but when i try it it says CANT FIND SERVER, it

Hello,

You need to call the company that provides your e-mail service. They will
give you the information to fill in the boxes.

I have entered the link you provided below, and I keep receiving a
window that states there is no NG like that on the MS server.

Have you contacted your ISP/Mail Provider as you were told, to get the
appropriate information?

_____

To crosspost, add the extra newsgroups in the 'Newsgroups:' line of the
message window. Separate newsgroup names with commas.
For example: microsoft.public.security.virus,
alt.comp.hardware.overclocking, alt.comp.anti-virus

Only crosspost to related newsgroups, and try to keep the number below four.
