I bought a brand new computer that came w microsoft disk, I had someone set
up my computer but he used a cd that he owned. Now when I try to do certain
things its telling me that I am a limited user and not the administrator.
Could he have access to my computer and my email? Could he have access to my
computer from his house? Or am I being paronoid? And how do I become the
administrator of my computer?

I'm not sure why the "someone" would do that, but if you are
uncomfortable with this, reinstall Windows. There is no way of us
knowing what the "someone" did to your computer from the information
you've provided.

You will be best off if you have a knowledgeable friend - a true friend
who is *really* knowledgeable and not someone who just says he is -
come over and take a look and help you get set up properly. Or have a
computer professional come and do it. Then go out and buy yourself a
book like "XP For Dummies". I do not mean that as an insult; the "For
Dummies" series have an unfortunate name but are quite good.

Thanks for responding, Is it weird that he used a cd that dididnt come with
the computer? Thats why I was suspious? Could it be possible that he could be
reading my emails from his computer? He actually is a computer tech so he
would be knowlegable on how to do it if its even possible to do. Its it
strange that he set me up as a limited user and not the administrator?

It is strange that he would use a cd that didn't come with the computer,
but I wasn't there, I don't know exactly what he did, and you don't
know either since you aren't that computer savvy (not an insult, just
an observation). It isn't strange that he set you up as a limited
account because it is safer to do your daily work in a limited account.
I responded to the other post you made in the other newsgroup. Go and
look at the answers you got. Then if you want to continue posting
regarding this subject, pick *one* of those threads and stick with it.
Drop the other one.

Again, you need to get a knowledgeable friend or trustworthy computer
professional to come over and take a look. This isn't going to be
something you can solve in a newsgroup - it will require someone who
knows what they are doing to take a look.
