Actually it's just a plain email question but since the charter of
this newsgroup includes viruses I added that.
Once in a while I send somebody an email at Netzero and it bounces. I
sometimes use a Virtual Private Network. Their email quota has not
been exceeded.
Why would it bounce? I am just guessing maybe the VPN server I use,
which is occasionally in Belgrade, Serbia and sometimes in Budapest,
Hungary, is blacklisted.
Does this make sense? Why else would an email bounce? I've also had
it happen when sending email from Hotmail, while logged onto my VPN (I
use HMA)--and Hotmail is a known 'quick to reject email' service--they
seem to have strict rules on where your email can originate from
(i.e., they don't like developing countries like Serbia a lot, from
what I can tell).
I get various error messages that are wrong, like 'email quota
exceeded', but that's not really the problem.
Any ideas? Using Windows 7 and SMTP etc via Outlook.
