Email storage?

Im needing a program that can backup just the text portion of my email.
Meaning I don't want to keep any of the photos or attachments or html. Is
there a free program than can store all my mail in a type of a database that
I can search by a keyword for future reference.

What sort of input format are you looking at? Is this email off an IMAP or
POP3 box, or from email already downloaded by some other email application?
 
I'm using OE so .dbx files I suppose I really don't know how to begin to
look for something... I would like the end product to be like a text or .doc
file or a database that I could search for a keyword but I only need to save
the text portion.... thanks for looking :-)
