The IP address of my email server was changed today, and now I can only get
some of my email and then it hangs. I've deleted the email account and
recreated it, still no luck. I've tried changing some options, no luck.
I've unplugged the cable modem for a minute and plugged it back in, no luck.
I've shut down my computer and started it again, no luck. Sometimes when I
do Test Account Settings it works and sometimes it doesn't, with no changes
in between. I have Outlook 2003, and it's a POP3 account.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Try to telnet to the POP server in a command prompt -

telnet mail.servername.com 110 <enter>

....presuming this is for your inbound mail. Do you see a banner? Did you
call your ISP to ask if other people are having problems?

I would guess you have to wait 48 hours or so for DNS to propogate. If the
DNS of the old IP is cached, it will have a hard time resolving to the new
IP.

Just my 2 cents.
