how likely? depending on how far behind you are with patches it could be
very likely... there are exploits that autoexecute attachments that you
need to worry about because you use oe...
I only use outlook at work so am not very well versed on OE
vulnerabilities. On top of the above suggestions you need to go around
your OE & Internet Settings (in control panel) to make sure that no
scripts are allowed to execute without at least prompting you first. HTML
email code can have embedded images (visible or not!) linked to a website,
which besides fetching adverts and the like, will also confirm to spammers
that your email address is a valid one. OE can also execute JavaScript
commands and fetch/install all sot of nasties on your machine. I do not
know if you can make OE to suppress such embedded objects (Opera has a
setting for this). I think the M$ IE & OE can be made safer using Internet
Settings and tweaking Trusted Sites(?) Better check on google.
