Is it possible to email pictures directly from your memory card. A friend
of mine says he does so but has problems with different size pictures being
received in these emails. I would have thought it would be necessary for
your pictures to be on your PC first, but maybe nowadays with these devices
running at higher speeds, it is possible.

TIA

Yes. The memory card is simply a "Device with removable storage" and you
"see" it as a Drive under My Computer. So there is no problem selecting a
file on the memory card and sending via e-mail. The problem may be due to
the fact that there is a limitation by the internet provider being used as
to the size of the file(s) permitted as attachment to e-mail or the size of
file that the recipient is allowed to received.
With high resolution cameras available today, a 5 MB picture file is common.
Not a good idea to send such via e-mail. Thus it is better to copy to hard
drive, use software to resize down to make a smaller file, but still keep
the original, and then e-mail the smaller file.

Thank you Yves. Yes I thought it best to save to the hard drive first then
resize the file sizes, which you can do in Windows XP.

I really don't understand the variation of sizes received. He emailed seven
photos, two of which ranged in size 37.9 KB - 57.3 KB and the other five all
around the mid 600 KB filesize, straight from his memory card. Which he
says he took all at the same size and quality.

Thank You, I will pass on the information
