I have a Windows 2000/XP based network. I have several Windows 2k
Server based machines with different roles. One of those servers is my
Exchange 2000 server. Each server has the latest updates and service
packs. The exchange server also has the latest service pack and the
latest security rollup pack (Sept 03). I have clients running either
Outlook 2000, XP, or 2003 but mostly Outlook XP. Most of the client
machines are running Windows XP. Two clients in particular are
receiving a new email notification sound and the envelope icon in the
system tray. Problem is that they done have new email. This isn't a
huge problem. This is mainly an annoyance and the users bug me quite a
bit because it is a problem for them. Especially since they have a
Pavlovian response to new email and it is such a let down when they
don't get email. These users are also delegates to attorneys that
they work for in the office. I was wondering if that could be a
problem as well. If anyone has anything for me to try, I would be very
appreciative. Thanks!
