I want to use mail merge to send a personalized plain text
email, with a PDF file attachment, to the contacts in my
outlook contact address book.

I know how to do this without the attachment, but I cannot
figure out how to add the attachment.

Can anyone help?

Thank you

There are several Toolkits for this. One I prefer is from MapiLab

Two questions:
1) Why haven't the Office programmers implemented this feature in Outlook?
2) Will they do so, so that we don't have to pay additional money to buy
stuff from third-party vendors?

1) Since Word is the mail merge engine, you'd probably have to ask the Word
programmers.

2) Probably not, since third-party tools are available and inexpensive and,
for those with considerably more time than money, you can write your own VBA
code to do something similar.

Sigh. If they'd written it to run in Outlook VBA instead of Word VBA, they
could have completely avoided security prompts, at least for Outlook 2003
users. Having to wait 5 seconds for the send prompt makes it pretty useless
for many people, even with Express ClickYes.

Office mail merge can't do this. You'll need a third-party tool. See

<<Sigh>> ... to address your earlier comment

1) Don't know anybody. Hope one or two of them read these posts.

2) What about those (vast majority?) of us who have neither the time nor
the money (nor the patience to experiment) to pay for the inexpensive
third-party tools and write our own VBA code to do something similar?

Oh well ... <<sigh>>

There are always manual methods. And you can send your suggestions to
(e-mail address removed) and (e-mail address removed)
