I downloaded http://windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/IE_Default_Browser.reg like Meena
said and it does bring up the web page now without IE running, but the
"Internet Connection Wizzard Box" still pops up.I have tried to delete all
references to that "box" but it still pops up.Meena, any other suggestion? Or
anyone?Original post on 2-5-05 with heading: Email links won't open unless IE
running

Why not use the wizard? It seems that it is standard to set up
a connection before attempting to use one... ;)

See the paragraph titled "Setting up Internet e-mail" in this article:

<title>Communicating with e-mail: Part 1: Using the Inbox</title>

(Google web search for
"internet connection wizard" outlook -express site:microsoft.com
)

BTW you may get better answers in a newsgroup which specializes
in Outlook (if that is what you are using for E-mail.)
I think your question has more to do with that product than with IE.
E.g. if Outlook is set up at all like Outlook Express it will have
a configuration option which makes it dependent on IE's Connections
(or not). However, that information is something which someone
who is more familiar with Outlook would be able to tell you.

Good luck
