email .jpe files

I'm trying to open a .jpe file in Outlook Express. I
have Windows xp and evertime I try to open a .jpg it
opens fine, but when I try to open a .jpe file I click on
the paperclip, then open file, then it takes me directly
to Microsoft Photo Editor and I get an error message
saying "unknown file format." I can sent a .jpe file to
a friend and she can open it fine.

Help me!!

Save the file, change the extension to .jpg and then try opening it. If this doesn't
work download www.irfanview.com , it may open it. It is a free download.
