email identities lost when upgrading

Last night I upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP.
Before upgrading, I had my main email identity plus 5
others. Now all I have is my main identity. When I try to
switch identities, the main one goes away for a second,
as if another one is going to come up but the main one
just comes back again. The other identities are all still
listed, but I can't get to them, and therefore I can't
get to my old emails. So, I know that I could start from
scratch, but I'd love to be able to just pick up where I
was. I'd appreciate any pointers. Thank you!
