Hello.. I need some help if anyone is able.. I am attemptng to send an email
from Microsoft word... having trouble.. Found the icon under the send option,
but it isn't lit... I run my cursor over it and nothing happens. The fax
option lights up, but not email. Is this in anyway connected to my Windows
email account which was on my desktop originally. I have yet to set that up
so I think that may be why. I am having trouble setting that up because I
don't know what I am supposed to do.. I enter in my user name then next, then
I think I am supposed to use my current email account... so I enter that
in... I have both yahoo and hotmail, tried them both at different times. then
next and it asks pop3 or something.. and another thing for incomng/and
outgoing messages.. I have no idea what to put here.. tried to research it
myself, tried to call for help.. no one can help with this minor issue. If
you can please respond.. Forever greatful.

You haven't set up an email account?

Yahoo! web based and Hotmail will not work in Windows Mail. There is
something called YPops I believe it is that should work though. Hotpopper I
think it's called will work only if you have a Hotmail Plus account.

You would then set ther Yahoo! account as the default email account, set
Windows Mail as the default e-amil program.

I don't know what ISP you are logging on with does it not supply a POP3
e-mail account?

Ok.. I need to set up an account then.. I don't care to set up a new one..
Can I create a microsoft one?? Is that an option? Or just tell me what to
set up, I really don't care, I would just like it done. If you could walk
me through, I could manage. I need a user name, got that covered, an email
address, tell me @ who? and then the stuff it asks for from there.. the
incoming and outgoing pop3 and stuff. I dont mean to sound so stupid, but I
am new to all this. Never ha to do this before. As for what ISP, I am
logging onto.. If that means Internet Service Provider.. All I know is I
click on Internet Explorer...pay Cincinnati Bell, and call Zoomtown when I
have trouble. Or I use wireless depending on where I am working.. I hope
that answers the question..?? You are the first bit of help I have come close
to finding... Please keep it coming, I am so desperate. Thank you so much
for replying to me.. I feel like you are my only lifeline..!!!

They show for fuse and zoomtown to be both POP3 accounts.

If your email address is a .fuse.com use:

pop.fuse.com
smtp.fuse.com

if your email address is a .zoomtown.com use:

pop.zoomtown.com
smtp.zoomtown.com

From Windows Mail
Tools | Accounts | Add button

Select E-mail

Go thru the to steps and when you get to the type of server it is, select
POP3 then use the server names from above as required.

NO authenication is apparently required.

Just walk thru the steps and you should be ready.

You really need to call your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
to find out what your email address is. Possibly something
like (e-mail address removed).

Okay. I am understanding better now, the problem still exists though. I am
feeding off of my parents ISP... Currently I have my computer hooked up
directly at their house. I live right next door, eventually, we are going to
install a wireless adaptar and I will be feeding off their network from my
place. Until then I am set up at their house. I do not have a fuse or
zoomtown account, my dad probably does, but I don't want to use his email
address... I want to use my own. how do I get my own or can I use one I
already have?? Sorry.. not trying to make this more complicated than it has
to be, but I personally don't have an account with either one. If I use my
dads will my emails be sent there?? I am confused.. or is the account just
for set up purposes??

Generally speaking, you get an email address when you pay an
ISP for service. One of the few places that will give you a free
email account with POP3 access is Gmail. In your web browser
go to http://gmail.com and click on the "Sign Up for Gmail" link.

If you use you dad's account then, yes when he checks mail, he will receive
it.

Have them add another mail account. Most ISP allow up to five and sometimes
more. That way you would have your own email address at the least.

THANK YOU BOTH FOR YOUR HELP! Finally able to move onto the next issue st
hand. Really appreciate all the feedback!
