Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a program that will reject or delete any incoming emails
that have executable attachments. An alternative would be to specify
acceptable attachments i.e. .doc .pdf .....

Again thanks,

Pegasus Mail can do this and has the best filters and you can delete mail
directly off server. Multi Pop, Multi Identities, and much more...

Other than that try MailWasher

..doc is NOT safe. Macro's inside the document can execute anything they
want.

Hi Dave,

I am
looking for a program that will query the kids email addresses and if the
email contains an executable file (as an attachment) it will not allow the
email to get to their POP email client.

Mailwasher can do that. Here is a rule that you might consider ;

If the Body contains
RegExpr"^content-type:.*(exe|com|pif|bat|scr|zip|cmd)"*$" then mark
the message as mail to be deleted.

Regards, John.

Pimmy allows you to filter messages with a rich set of rules. One of these
is "attachment name contains...". If rules are satisfied you can delete
messages on server. Rules can be applied on part of the body (50K for
example). In this way you reduce the download time but consider that the
names of multiple attachments are at the beginning of each attachment, not
all together at the beginning of the message.

Pimmy is also a complete mail and news reader (online & offline). It's
free, little (527KB), in italian, english, and soon in french, deutch,
spanish, russian and more.

You can download Pimmy from our web site www.geminisoft.com

I have used mailwasher ... kept crashing if too many emails to process ...
have been using Spamihilator (has to be this spelling) ... after about a
week it eliminates most junk/spam. Can be set for certian words and so on
....
