Outlook 2000. I have a dial-up connection and when I tell Outlook to
"SEND/RECEIVE" I frequently get the error message:

"The TCP/IP connection was unexpectantly terminated by the server.
(Account 'Bobnewman , POP 3 server:) 'postoffice.worldnet.att.net' Error
number:08x800ccc0f0.

When this happens I am still connected to the internet, no problem reading
newsgroups (IE6) and no problem reading my mail on AT&T Worldnet's web based
email reader. This is happening more and more frequently. It used to be if
I rebooted it cured the problem, now sometimes I have to reboot more than
once before it works properly.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance... bob

Hi Bob,

Do you have any type of antivirus or personal firewall software that scans
POP3 mail as it is downloaded? If yes, try disabling this feature
temporarily to see if it clears the problem.
