If I understand your issue correctly, you are not seeing new messages
appearing in your Inbox, but you know they are there. This sounds like an
issue where the "New Mail Notification" that comes from the Exchange Server
is not arriving at your machine. When Outlook starts up, it registers for
"New Mail Notification" on a random port with the Exchange Server. If this
packet coming from the Exchange Server does not get to the client, you have
to change folders to force Outlook to update itself manually. You can
automate this process in Outlook, having it peridically poll the server for
new mail, as detailed in the following article, once you upgrade to SP-3
for Office 2000.
