ive searched all over the internet and this site for the answer to m
problem but i cant find it. so i thought id ask now:

While i play a computer game (an online game - CS ) my email clien
opens up at my inbox every few minutes. I had outlook express but the
i changed it to mozilla thunderbird to try and stop this fro
happening. now its happening with Thunderbird and i dont know why.

Ive recently done a full system virus scan and nothing came up. i
seems to either be a problem with the computer or game - not with th
actual client as its happened on both of them. i have a firewall in m
router so i dont think it could be someone hacking in.

i thought it could be that i was accidently pressing a hotkey durin
the game that causes my email client to open? or is it something else
i am also running a programme to find games servers called 'Steam'
this programme could be opening my email client.

ive looked in settings of the game, the email client, the serve
programme and found nothing. do u hav any ideas?

thanks :-

Try disabling automatic mail checking.

nope, checked all the settings of the email client. disabled all the
regular email checks and its still going wrong :-(

is there a way of keeping current programmes running as the main on
when new programmes pop up? like in general?

i know that sometimes an internet browser wont become the one i
control if it pops up and the current browser will stay as the presen
one.

is there a way to make this a rule for all programmes in general

Check tweakUI, part of XP's Power Toys.
Check General > Focus > Prevent application from stealing focus

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Good luck
