email and messenger

I have Outlook Express and I want to change the name it
sends out with every new email I write. I search the
help menu in Outlook Express, and it tells me to point to
the messenger service under tools... then personal.. to
change my name sent with my emails that others can see.
The messenger link listed under tools is darkened. I
have signed in to .NET Passport, and have Windows
Messenger, but it didn't help. I have a small internet
provider, not aol or MSN. any advise?

In Outlook Express, click on Tools|Accounts, and then on the Mail tab.
Then click on Properties. Change your name under User Information.
