Email Address Verification

I switched my .net passport to my new email address and
so did a couple of my contacts. They are listed as my
contacts but it says E-Mail Address Not Verified. What is
this and is there something I should do or they should
do? Thank you. Happy Holidays to you and yours if you
read this.
 
Greetings Jeff,

You'll receive a verification e-mail from Passport services to your ISP's e-mail account
within the next 48 hours, just click on the verification link and you'll be verified (you'll
need to sign off and on to Messenger when you do this to see the change).
