outlook 2002 sp1 on exchange server 5.5 sp4
win2k pro

I have a client who basically used the email cache in outlook as an email address store. (stupid i know)
They would type in the first few letters and outlook would prompt the rest of the address.
While away on holidays somebody else was using their machine.
Unfortunately the temps outlook profile was setup on the machine.
The temp was also using my clients logon details, so the temps outlook details would have defaulted to my clients logon profile.

When my client returned and had their email setup again the link to the cache of email addresses seemed to be broken and the email address is no longer prompted.

I know the information must be somewhere in my clients profile maybe application data or local settings.
Is there anyway to fix the link or at least retrieve the cache.
thanks

the cache is stored in a file with the extension *.nk2. did the temp use the
persons mailbox? As long as the profile names were different, the cache file
should be there.

There is a utility to can use to view the cache and see if the old
information is really gone. if the user truly does use it as an address
book, this might be a good investment you can use to save his addresses. :)
