email address book

I recently upgraded from Office 2002 to Office 2003. I was using Outlook
Express for my email and and Outlook for my Contacts. My email address book
was in Outlook Express. I have decided to use Outlook for everything instead.
I exported all my Contacts to 2003 as a pst file. My email address book is
acting very strangely. I list my contacts as: last, middle, first (Full Name)
and same way in File As. But my email address book lists them as first,
middle, last! The Display As field automatically lists it as first, middle,
last and that's how it appears in the email address book under Name as well
as Display as!
I would like the email address book to show last, middle, first. Also, when
I print out mailing labels I would like it to read: first, middle, last.
Can you please help me?

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

I did that and it did help, Thank you very much. But there is another
problem: the email address book has listed some of the contacts twice, once
with their email address and once with their fax no. When I delete the one
with the fax no., it delets their fax no. from that person's contact sheet.
What can I do to remedy this? Thank you so much for your time.

As you will see in countless other posts here, this is the intended
behavior.
Outlook considers fax numbers to be valid electronic addresses, since there
are many client- and server-based components that can use such addresses.

One method to hide fax numbers from the address book is to prefix the fax
number with one or more letters (maybe B for business fax, H for home, O for
other). If the fax number begins with a letter, Outlook won't show it in the
address book.

There are a couple of utilities that can help you hide fax numbers from the
address book. See http://www.rsoutlook.com/us/rshifa.htm and
http://www.sperrysoftware.com/Outlook_Solutions.htm (Hide Fax Numbers).

Another way to avoid having fax numbers appear in the address book is
simply not to enter data in the fax fields. Put fax numbers in some other
(non-phone) fields.
