how about email
account settings and categories?
Your categories are stored as a registry key and you can move that from one
machine to another. The actual key depends on the version of Outlook. See
here for details - http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/olcat.htm#top

As far as you account settings are concerned, transfer is possible in only two
situations - Outlook 98/2000 IMO mode to another Outlook 98/2000 IMO machine
or Outlook 2003 to another Outlook 2003 machine. Otherwise, you have to
recreate the accounts manually.

account settings and categories? *

Here is how to get all of your Outlook 2003 account settings from a
backup or another machine:

1: Export the following key fron your backup:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook\9375CFF0413111d3B88A00104B2A6676

2: Import into your current registry.

3: When you launch Outlook, you will be prompted for passwords for each
account but all of the other mail account settings will have been
transfered. Not sure how to get the passwords, they are stored in the
keys but seem to need re-creation...

Note that more than just account settings are stored there and if the same
addins are not on the new machine or files are in different locations (or
user accounts are not the same), Outlook will balk and you'll need to make a
new profile. It's also easier to use the OfficeSave my settings wizard,
although the same problem occurs with addins.
