Emai link problem

That page doesn't contain an email link.

Sorry, I'm still not up on FP.

Once you get to that page, click on a chair, then on the next larger
chair that will show up, and it will be there at the top of the page. It
is a yellow button. The url address stays the same tho'.

This is why I am at a loss how to fix it as there are 200 items and they
all have that email button there.

Once I know where the area to fix it may be, I guess all of them will
update automatically.

The link again,

Thanks

Here is your current link
http://www.totalpm.com.au/fineseat/chairs/azeo/mail/
which is pointing to a folder, which since it doesn't have a default document (home page) is
displaying the folder content.

Hi,

On a site we have inherited to look after, we find an email problem.

When the link is touched we get a get a directoy listing instead of it
opening the visitors email client.

How would we correct this please.

The link is here..

Hi, Rock: I like a challenge, so I looked all over that page and
followed the top link to the home page, but the only e-mail links I
found were working correctly. Perhaps you found the problem and fixed
it already?

In theory, though, if your intended mailto: link, wherever it is, is
lacking the necessary "mailto" and is instead pointing to a directory,
and this hypothetical directory did not contain an "index" file, the
user might well see a directory listing.

Ah, I didn't see this follow-up in a new thread...

The mail button should, as you seem to have suggested, say something
like this: mailto:[email protected].
This is why I am at a loss how to fix it as there are 200 items and they
all have that email button there.

Same e-mail addy for all the buttons would make it an easy enough fix,
but I'd guess you'd want the e-mail enquiries to arrive with a
distinctive Subject: header so you can deal with them more easily. In
tat case, you'd want the links to say:
mailto:[email protected]?subject=thischair or
mailto:[email protected]?subject=thatchair or whatever.
Once I know where the area to fix it may be, I guess all of them will
update automatically.

Possibly, I wouldn't know, but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

But then I'm just a pessimistic old pom... :)
