Hia. Please forgivr me if this is the wrong forum, but I am struggling to
find any other more appropriate.

I'm looking for advice and help with regards to getting information off a
Apple Emac hard disk and onto another new Emac.

Because of the Emac design, I don't wish to take apart the new machine if
possible, but I have a fully working hard disk with information I need to
get off and on to the new machine.

The old emac is faulty and will cost too much to repair just so I can have
access to the hard disk.

Is it possible to put the hard disk in a pc and put the needed files on a cd
rom and then load back on to the new emac?

Also, I have heard about external hard disk carriers with USB connections,
which should let me connect the old hard disk onto the new emac. However, I
haven't seen these in any shops... doh.

Can anybody offer any help on this one?

Thanks in advance,

Adam.

Yes. As long as the pc has support for the file system of the old HD.
Linux supports most file systems. I know it supports Apples if that's what
an emac is.

Look on eBay for 3 1/2" drive caddys, there should be quite a few.
