Used - for sale on EBay - Cheap. Any Good? Should I avoid it?
Does it have known problems?

What about Elsa in general?

Thanks

Elsa makes reference design cards, if it still works at this point
(including the fan), it's as good as any other GF 256, but why would
you want one?

I have some old GF 256 cards that aren't dead but have serious visual
anomolies, like horizontal lines or odd ghosting, which appear to be a
GPU failure... not sure what the cause is but it's definitely the
cards.

It creates a lot of heat for it's speed, is much slower than modern
integrated (nForce1 or 2) video, and much faster cards like Geforce4,
can be found for under $35 delivered in the US.

I suppose if you only had X amount to budget for video that's better
than something like an old ATI Rage XL, unless you were just wanting a
basic display for a server, then the Rage XL would be better due to
lower heat production, power consumption, and no fan to wear out.
